Honest, criteria-based recommendations — never a ranking bought by commission.
How we choose
We evaluate tools against four criteria: ease of use for someone non-technical, privacy practices, price, and support quality. A tool only appears in a recommendation if it meets these criteria — whether or not it pays a commission. Where an affiliate link is used, it's disclosed visibly next to the recommendation, not buried in a footer.
Every recommendation also states who the tool is not for. If we can't honestly say that, we don't publish the recommendation.
